VEST
Violent Encounter Survival Techniques
The world is becoming an increasingly violent place. You just have to turn on the TV or open the paper to see that.
Self Defence training isn’t a luxury these days, but a necessity. However not everyone has the time or the inclination to embark on a Martial Arts journey to learn the Art of Fighting which could take you years. Sometimes people just want to know the short, sharp way to deal with a violent encounter. Sometimes people just want to know how to quickly and effectively take an opponent out of the game, in the name of self-defence and protecting yourself and your loved ones. This is where VEST comes in.
I have been training and teaching Martial Arts for over 20 years, both here and abroad, and VEST is the culmination of everything thing I have learned through hard fought experience and through training with some of the best Martial Artists the world has to offer. It is a condensed, laser beam version of the comprehensive syllabus that I teach week in, week out.
There is no fluff here, just hard, easy to learn and brutally effective techniques that can be applied by anyone, in any situation.
In my eyes there is no such thing as one type of self-defence for ladies and one type for Gents. To me that is a ridiculous concept. If there are a set of techniques that is better for a smaller, weaker person to apply, then everyone should want to know those techniques.
There are 2 big things I have learnt in my time in the Martial Arts:
These are the concepts that VEST is built on. Anything else would be pointless.
A very famous self-defence instructor called Geoff Thompson once said,
“Self Defence can be summed up in 5 easy words. Learn. To. Hit. F***ing. Hard”
That is what you will do in your first session, learn to hit very, very hard indeed. Regardless of your size or strength. You will learn how to correctly apply the maximum force possible into your strikes in a way that will not damage your hands but will undoubtedly damage your attacker. From there on it is all about building on the newly learnt power and engineering any situation to the point where you can use these strikes to damage your opponent. You won’t learn hundreds of different ways to defend against a hundred different attacks. You will simple learn a formula of incapacitating an attacker and then how to apply that formula to any situation.
The striking techniques in VEST come from a self protection method called The Approach, developed by Eddie Quinn. The approach is currently taking the bodyguarding and security world by storm due to its hard hitting and simple striking techniques. The beauty of it is in its simplicity. The aim of it is to take out your opponant in the quickest and most effective way possible whilst still have functioning, undamaged hands. click here for more details on The Approach.
Whether you are a first timer or an experienced Martial Artist, this course is for you. No messing about with techniques that you find hard to believe would ever work. No odd, restraint techniques that you could never pull off in reality. Just hard hitting, devastatingly effective, quick and easy to learn techniques that will give you the chance to save your life or that of a loved one.
The classes will be run in an honest, but friendly and safe manner, so don’t be intimidated by what you have read. The only person who should be intimidated by this course is the low life who decides to force a violent situation on you once you have completed it. Big mistake on their part.
You owe it to yourself to know how to ensure your body remains intact and safe. Do yourself a favour…..
