Minimalist Approach

Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.

Have you ever heard of the 80/20 rule?

It is a business saying that means 80% of your profit comes from 20% of your clients. Make sense? This also means that 20% of your profit comes from 80% of your clients.

What savvy businesses have done is use this to their advantage. They cut out the 80% of their clients that were not giving them the big money so they could concentrate on the important 20%. This means that they can focus more of their time and effort into the big gainers. The clients who really pay the bills.

What does this have to do with training, you ask?

EVERYTHING.

Sometimes the questions are complicated and the answers are simple.

The 80/20 rule is true of most things in life. Especially physical training. 80% of the gains you make come from 20% of the effort.

Think of it this way. You go for a run, when is the hardest bit? At the beginning when you are just starting or at the end when you are tired and you are trying to run faster and faster just to beat your time. What if you could just harness the end of that run. Just train that bit? That would save time and effort.

Life is harder when you complicate the simple things. Enjoy what you have and live your life.

When you are lifting weights, which exercises give you the most bang for your buck? The ones that use individual muscle groups in isolation, that teach your body to work as a collection of individual parts, that don’t use enough energy to effectively burn fat at the same time as building muscle? Or the big compound exercises that use most, if not all, of your muscle groups at the same time, that teach your body to work as a unit, that use so much energy they burn fat at the same time as building strong, useful and lean muscle?

The answer is clear to me.

The same can be said in Martial Arts. Which techniques get used the most? Which techniques really count? Which techniques are going to really get you out of trouble? Easy, the most basic 20%. Just watch pro boxers, top level judo players, top level Mixed Martial Artists. They techniques that win fights are generally the ones you learn in your first few lessons. They are the exactly the same, they have just practiced them a lot more than you have.

What about your diet? Should it really be that complicated or should a diet be easy to manage, easy to forget about and take care of itself? Should you be cutting out food groups, or should you just be eating healthily? What supplements? What vitamins? Cabbage soup? Detox? Keep it simple.

Remember the 80/20 rule.

Simplicity boils down to two steps: Identify the essential. Eliminate the rest.

Now, what if you could find out 20% is going to work for you?

This is the foundation that Momentum Physical Training is built on. Finding that 20% and using it to get you the best results in the shortest, most trouble free way we can.

The beauty is in its simplicity.

If you are anything like us, you don’t have time to spend doing endless amounts of training. You want to be able to spend time with your family and friends. You have work commitments, family commitments….. maybe you just want time to sit down and relax to get away from the hustle and bustle of modern living.

We have figured this all out for you.

The greatest ideas are the simplest.

Martial Arts:

VEST- a streamlined version of our already ‘to the point’ Martial Arts syllabus. This is self-protection at its most basic and effective. If you have limited time to learn how to defend yourself then this is the class for you.

CXT- If you want a more comprehensive syllabus, that deals with all ranges of combat, in both a sporting and street environment, but don’t have endless hours to train as a pro fighter, then this is the class for you.

Strength, Fitness and fatloss with Kettlebells:

Kettlebell training really is the best of all the above worlds rolled into one. This is THE best ‘one stop shop’ for those pushed for time. No need to spend hours in the gym trying to cover lots of different aspects of fitness when you can do everything in one class with one piece of equipment utilising big compound movements that are the most effective for your body.

Diet:

The Momentum Diet is less of a diet plan than a way of teaching you how to eat properly. Each plan is tailored to the individual and designed to be as sustainable as possible to ensure that you can keep it going for the rest of your life without feeling like you are missing out or depriving yourself.

The average teacher explains complexity; the gifted teacher reveals simplicity.

At momentum Physical Training we really want to help you achieve what you didn’t think possible. Just have a look at our testimonial page to see the amazing results and comments people have made about us.
